Today’s Thought: Be careful with your environment!
by, Corey Wells

The environment you work in, the people you socialize with, and where you live, all have a great impact on your lifestyle, goals and career.

To reach your goals, it is important to consider if anyone or anything maybe holding you back. If you are not in a supportive positive environment you should seriously evaluate the situation and make immediate changes to improve it. The success of your goals depends on it!

Its been said that you become the people you associate with, so try to develop associations with people who can help you or people who have the same goals in mind as you. Avoid negative, unproductive people, especially in your personal relationships.

Remember you are in control of your life! You can make decisions based on what is best for you! Don’t let others decide how you should run your life!

Let’s get started.

  1. “The people who say they don’t have time to take care of themselves will soon discover they’re spending all their time being sick.”
    -Patricia Alexander,
  2. ”The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story, and writes another; and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume as it is with what he vowed to make it.”
    -John M. Barrie,
  3. ”Fear is not a good teacher. The lessons of fear are quickly forgotten.”
    -Mary Catherine Bateson,
  4. “There is no such thing as a long piece of work, except one that you dare not start.”
    -Charles Baudelaire,
  5. “…there is a difference between being convinced and being stubborn. I’m not certain what the difference is, but I do know that if you butt your head against a stone wall long enough, at some point you realize the wall is stone and that your head is flesh and blood.
    -Maya Angelou,
  6. “If we have the opportunity to be generous with our hearts,
ourselves, we have no idea of the depth and breadth of love’s reach.”
    Margaret Cho,
  7. “I love my past. I love my present. I’m not ashamed of what I’ve
had, and I’m not sad because I have it no longer.”
    Colette,
  8. “He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be
compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it.”
    Confucius,

Today’s Thought: You become what you think about!
by, Corey Wells

You become what you think about… This great phrase was said by Earl Nightingale in his fantastic recording “The Strangest Secret.” It has been said many times in many different ways over the course of mankind but no matter how you say it, the message remains the same. What we think about becomes a reality in our lives.

What this means is, if we constantly tell ourselves things like, “Things never work out for me!” or “I’ll never make more money!” or “I can’t do that!” This will turn out to be the truth!
Whatever your consistent thoughts are, good, bad or indifferent, that is what you can usually expect as the outcome.

So, if your life can be controlled by your thoughts, why not pick the thoughts you want to have? For instance, tell yourself “Good things always happen to me!” Or tell yourself, “I can do anything I set my mind to, no matter what it is. If I want it I’ll get it!”

When you feed your mind with positive thoughts you have the ability to shape and control your destiny.

Let’s get started.

  1. “ Nothing is more deceitful than the appearance of humility. It is often only carelessness of opinion, and sometimes an indirect boast.”
    -Jane Austen,
  2. “All we see of someone at any moment is a snapshot of their life, there in riches or poverty, in joy or despair. Snapshots don’t show the million decisions that led to that moment.”
    -Richard Bach,
  3. “For knowledge itself is power.”
    -Francis Bacon,
  4. “A man without ambition is dead. A man with ambition but no love is dead. A man with ambition and love for his blessings here on earth is ever so alive.”
    -Pearl Bailey,
  5. ” Happiness is a small and unworthy goal for something as big and fancy as a whole lifetime, and should be taken in small doses.”
    -Russell Baker
  6. “No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are slippery and thought is vicious. “
    -Henry Adams,
  7. “A handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains.””
    Danish Proverb
  8. “It’s a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy.”
    -Lucille Ball

Today’s Thought: How to Stay Motivated

by, Corey Wells

Motivation starts with a goal. What is it your really want from life. What is it that absolutely pains you to live without. If you don’t have that burning desire, than you really don’t have a goal. You have to want something so bad it hurts.

Once you have your goal and it’s something that you can’t live without, motivation becomes easy. Simply focus on what you want and the steps you have to take to get there. Create a path for yourself. Once you have the plan, it’s as simple as following it. Just focus on the next step.

If, things change or are not leading you to your ultimate goal. Then change your path. Scout out a new way to get you where you want to go. Don’t give in to temporary road blocks, where there is a will there is a way!

So how do you stay motivated.

  1. Decide what you really want. Make it something that you can’t live without. Something that causes you to feel pain because you don’t have it now.
  2. Decide that this goal will be yours. No matter what you’ll do everything you, ethically, can to achieve this goal.
  3. Create a plan to reach your goal. Make simple steps that you will follow everyday that will lead you to your ultimate goal.
  4. Change directions if you hit a road block. Don’t let anything stop you…
  5. Don’t Quit! If you created the goal, you can achieve the goal. You can do anything you set your mind on. The only limitation facing you is yourself. Don’t get in the way of your dreams.

Today’s Thought: Fear of Success

by, Corey Wells

You may wonder why anyone would be fearful of success. Most people that have this fear have no idea that this is what’s holding them back. If you find yourself not achieving the level of success you deserve you might want to look closely at this fear.

Why would someone be fearful of success? The fear of success could also be called the fear of change. Some people feel that by achieving more it will mean less time for them, and more hours of work. Some people feel really comfortable where they are in life and do not want things to change. Don’t get comfortable. When you feel things are changing get excited! You’re learning and growing and coming one step closer to reaching your goals.

The fear of success may also be because you don’t feel you deserve to be successful. There is no quick fix for this problem. You’ll need to analyze what you want to achieve from life. In some cases therapy can be helpful for breaking through what’s really keeping you back.

Don’t let the fear of success hold you back. Keep moving forward, and you’ll slowly stop preventing yourself from achieving. Build a simple plan and follow it. If you can plan out the steps you need to take to achieve what you want, it’s just a matter of following your plan.

On the podcast today we have another 8 fantastic quotes.

Today’s Thought:
Fear of Embarrassment

by, Corey Wells
Let’s face it, in life, you will run into embarrassing situations. You will trip on your tongue and say something silly or do something dumb. Keep in mind this will happen and that’s ok, its part of life! Time and experience can help you talk around embarrassing situations.

Often times we have situations were we know there is the potential to feel embarassed. I have people I coach that have situations like this all the time. The best way to overcome it is to feel prepared. If you feel like you can handle any situation you’ll feel comfortable.

So, how do you get yourself prepared. What I do, is try and role play with my clients every possible scenario they may encounter in the embarrassing situation. I get them to the a point where they feel bulletproof. Once they get down the verbal “Kung Fu” it’s just a matter of getting out there and making it happen. It’s really just that easy.

Let’s get started with today’s quotes.

  1. “The leadership instinct you are born with is the backbone. You develop the funny bone and the wishbone that go with it.”
    -Elaine Agather
  2. “The knowledge of the world is only to be acquired in the
world, and not in a closet.”
    Lord Chesterfield,
  3. “It’s always fun to do the impossible.”

  5. ” “Write the bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble.””
  6. ” Show respect for all men, but grovel to none.”
  7. ” othing is more dangerous than an idea, when it is the only idea we have.”
    -Henri Alban-Fournier,
  8. “Love is the big booming beat which covers up the noise of
    hate.”

Today’s Thought:
Fear of Failure

by, Corey Wells
The fear of failure comes from our ego. We are afraid to disappoint ourselves, people we work with or are family and friends. Realizing that this fear has more to do with our ego can help you get rid of this fear forever. Nothing in life is more important than moving in the direction of our dreams and failure is a large part of that process. It has been said that our success in life is in direct proportion to the amount of failure we can accept without giving up.

To eliminate this fear focus on your goals. Stay positive and focused on what you want and don’t worry what other say or do. Stay on course with the activities that will lead you to success.

Remember, don’t let your fears stop you. Moving beyond where you are initially fearful is the biggest key to your success! You can do it!

Let’s get started with today’s quotes.

  1. “It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery, but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between. “
    -Diane Ackerman,
  2. ” Guard against the prestige of great names; see that your judgments are your own; and do not shrink from disagreement; no trusting without testing.”
    -Lord (John Emerich Edward Dalberg)
  3. “Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.”
    -Douglas Adams,
  4. ” Years ago we discovered the exact point the dead center of middle age. It occurs when you are too young to take up golf and too old to rush up to the net. “
    -Franklin Pierce Adams,
  5. ” Nothing in education is so astonishing as the amount of ignorance it accumulates in the form of inert facts.”
    -Henry Adams,
  6. ” Old minds are like old horses; you must exercise them if you wish to keep them in working order.”
    John Adams,
  7. “I don’t confuse greatness with perfection. To be great anyhow is…the higher achievement.”
    Lois McMaster Bujold,
  8. ” “The Enlightenment has always aimed at liberating men from fear and establishing their sovereignty. Yet the fully enlightened earth radiates disaster triumphant.”
